Hydro-Fraser is a 2.3 MW private hydroelectric plant is located in Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec. In 2012, Mecan-Hydro provided a new crest gate to control the water level. The hinged crest gate is what we call “fish belly” type. It consists of a reinforced gate leaf hinged to the crest of the spillway. Not only it regulate water, but it also allows the user to sluice trash and ice.
