Magpie

The Magpie hydroelectric facility is located in the Minganie RCM in Northeastern Quebec. The run-of-river hydroelectric facility produces 40.6 MW. The commercial operations began in 2007 and the official inauguration was set on June 19th 2008.

All of the electricity produces in Magpie is sold to Hydro-Québec under a 25-year fixed-price power purchase agreement. The average annual production is estimated to be around 185,000 MWh, enough to power almost 11,000 Quebec households each year.
