Hydro & Dams

Summit Control Dam regulates outflow from the Ogoki Reservoir toward Lake Nipigon. Commissioned in 1941, its diesel-powered W.M. Kennedy log lifter uses a chain-driven rack and pinion system. The hydraulic power pack, installed in 1989, transfers energy from the engine to the gearbox via pump and motor.
