In 2026, Mecan-Hydro designed, manufactured and installed the Kruger Crabtree stoplog lifter for Kruger Inc. at the dam in Crabtree, Quebec. The project replaced the dam’s gantry crane with a Mersey swing forward & back stoplog lifter with spuds, supplied with double stoplogs for the spillway. The dam generates hydroelectricity for industrial operations, secures the process water intake of the adjacent Kruger tissue and paper plant, and maintains a fire reserve.

Mecan-Hydro supplied the stoplogs for the Kruger Crabtree project, from design and fabrication through shipping.
The swing forward & back stoplog lifter with spuds replaces the dam’s gantry crane and its water level control system. Mecan-Hydro supplied and installed a complete, functional system with hydraulic main power, built to the project drawings and contract requirements.
