SCOPE OF SUPPLY

The Island Falls stoplog lifters are vertical rack & pinion stoplog lifter cranes with spuds, designed for the Main Dam and the A-Dam and installed on the existing rails. They travel along the dam from the storage area to each spillway, while rails on the gantry frame let the upper crane section move upstream and downstream.

Bumpers at the ends of both sets of rails prevent the lifters from rolling off, speed-limiting sensors slow the crane before it reaches them, and red arrows on the end trucks and crane wheel tandems guide visual positioning.
